Carmel Pharma has been active on the Swedish market since the company was founded in 1994. As a result, PhaSeal is now being used at the majority of Swedish hospitals.
In the US Carmel Pharma operates through a subsidiary, Carmel Pharma, Inc. 2006 some 500 hospitals, including a number of the major cancer centres in the US, use PhaSeal on a routine basis when handling cytostatics.
In the EU, Carmel Pharma operates in the majority of countries through co-operation agreements with companies in the pharmaceutical and medical technology sectors.
As an increasing number of studies have shown that personnel handling cytostatics and certain antibiotics risk injury to their health, interest in PhaSeal has increased throughout the world. As a result of this, Carmel Pharma has gained a growing number of customers in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
The company´s head office is in Mölndal, Sweden, where the company´s products are manufactured.
Carmel Pharma has around 200 shareholders, the main ones being Investor Investment Europe Ltd and Priveq Investment.
